Light TrackLighting specification SaaS
A lighting specification platform where architects and designers search thousands of products by exact specs and organize them into projects.
Visit Light Track →The challenge
Specifying professional lighting meant digging through manufacturer PDFs and inconsistent spec sheets. Comparing beam angle, wattage or colour temperature across brands was slow and error-prone.
Every manufacturer publishes the same information differently, so the real problem was data before it was interface. Without a normalized model, filtering across brands is meaningless — and specifiers only trust a tool that returns complete, accurate results the first time.
Our approach
- 1Designed a normalized product data model so specs from different manufacturers are comparable.
- 2Built a search and filtering system able to handle thousands of lighting specifications without lag.
- 3Added project-based collections so teams can organise selections instead of emailing spreadsheets.
- 4Exposed integration-ready APIs and data exports for downstream tools.
- 5Tuned indexes and queries so filtered searches stay instant as the catalogue grows.
What we built
Advanced spec search
Filter by beam angle, wattage, colour temperature, lumen output and more across brands in a single query.
Project collections
Teams group selected fixtures per project and share them, replacing spreadsheet handoffs between designers.
Manufacturer dashboards
Brands maintain their own catalogue data, keeping specs accurate and in front of the people specifying them.
Exports and APIs
Integration-ready endpoints and structured exports so specification data flows into the tools firms already use.
Performance-first stack
React, Node.js and PostgreSQL with a normalized schema and tuned indexes for fast filtering at catalogue scale.
The result
LightTrack gives lighting professionals one clean, fast place to find, compare and manage complex product data — and gives manufacturers a channel to keep their specs in front of specifiers.
The normalized data layer also makes the platform expandable: new manufacturers and product categories can be onboarded without changing how search works.
